Kelley Polar - Love Songs of the Hanging Gardens

This multidisciplinary artist with an impressive knowledge of classical music, made the switch to electronic music in the early ’80s, after some performances with orchestras he moved to New York City where he met Morgan Geist, he colaborated with him in his first record as Metro Area, in a self titled album with only a few chords, nevertheless the participation of Polar was very evident, since he and Metro Area built up a unique post-disco style.
In november of 2005 Kelley Polar realeased his first solo album “Love Songs of the Hanging Gardens” Maybe I could describe it as a pop album, but at the same time is too opressive for a pop album, however this debut is rich and complex in sounds and with changing musical structures, that’s why we definitely can name this one as album of the month.
Here you can listen samples of the album.
If you liked this album you should listen Erlend Øye - Unrest
